My name is Donna Holstine Vander Valk, and I've worked in Spoken Arts for over 25 years. I hold multiple credentials in my field, including an Associate Teacher's Diploma (ARCT) from the Royal Conservatory (Toronto), an Associate, Licentiate and Fellowship from Trinity College, London (ATCL, LTCL, FTCLp), as well as a Licentiate in Effective Communication from Trinity College, London. I have a BA in Drama, an MEd in Leadership Studies, and a PhD in Education (Curriculum, Teaching and Learning). I formerly held the CHRP designation (Certified Human Resources Professional) in Learning & Development, and Organizational Behaviour, but I let that lapse with the birth of my sons. I have trained in Coaching and Mentoring, Arbitration and Mediation, Facilitation Skills, and I am an alumni of the Alberta Debate & Speech Association (ADSA), Provincials.
I have always worked with children, youth and adults, in private, small-group and large-group settings; I develop the materials I use, so you know that you aren't getting what everyone else gets - it's especially designed for you.
My students range from young (as young as four) learning to speaking clearly and confidently, through to teens in debate and public speaking (and performance), and on to young and working professionals in the arts, medicine, law, start-ups, engineering, aviation - you name it, I've probably worked with someone in the field.
I do not broadcast who I work with specifically - I believe that voice and communication is deeply personal, and that it is not my place to share your journey - when you are ready, you will have the voice to share your own!
